How we handle your information.

What this website collects when you use it, why, who else sees it, and how to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.

This website is operated by Deborah Winer, Broker, and Jamie Winer, Sales Representative, of RE/MAX Realtron Realty Inc., Brokerage, 7646 Yonge Street, Thornhill, ON L4J 1V9 ("we", "us"). We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and send commercial email in line with Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL).

What we collect

What you type into a form. The contact, home evaluation, showing request, listing alert, Active Neighbour and newsletter forms ask for some of: your name, email address, phone number, a property address and details, your price range and search preferences, and your message.
Your consent. The wording of the consent you ticked and the time you ticked it, so we can show when and how you agreed to hear from us.
Technical details sent with a form. Your IP address, browser type and the page you came from, stored with the submission to prevent spam and abuse. Rate limiting uses a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, not the address itself.

We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, financial account numbers, government ID numbers or health information through this site.

How we use it

To reply to you, prepare the pricing report you asked for, arrange a showing, or send the listing alerts you set up.
To send the newsletter or pre-construction updates you subscribed to. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly.
To keep the site secure, and to meet the record-keeping duties that apply to Ontario real estate brokerages and their registrants.

We only use your information for the purpose you gave it to us, or a purpose you would reasonably expect from that request.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only:

with service providers that run parts of this site for us: Cloudflare hosts the website and its database, and Brevo delivers our email. They process information on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments, and may store it on servers outside Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of those countries;
with RE/MAX Realtron Realty Inc., Brokerage, where brokerage rules require it;
where the law requires it.

Listing information

Listings on this site come from the MLS® System of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) through PropTx. That flow runs one way, from the board to this site. Browsing listings does not send your personal information to TRREB or PropTx.

Cookies and browser storage

We use no advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser's local storage keeps the homes you save and your compare list on your own device; they are not sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes them. When a map loads, map tiles are fetched from OpenFreeMap, whose servers see your IP address as part of any normal web request.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it to us, and for as long as brokerage record-keeping rules require. After that it is deleted.

How we protect it

The site is served only over encrypted connections, form data is stored in an access-controlled database, and access is limited to the people and providers who need it to run the site and answer you.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to further contact at any time. Email or call either of us (details on this page), or use the contact form. Alerts and newsletters can also be stopped with the unsubscribe link in any email.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date on this page shows the latest version.
