Thornhill, west of Yonge
Vaughan's part of Thornhill runs from Yonge Street west past Dufferin, and from Steeles north past Rutherford. Close to Yonge and Steeles is Crestwood-Springfarm-Yorkhill; along Bathurst are Brownridge and Beverley Glen around the Promenade; near Steeles are Lakeview Estates and Glen Shields; north of the 407 is Patterson, including Thornhill Woods.
Beyond Thornhill
West of Dufferin, Concord is Vaughan's big employment district with a growing number of condos. Further west and north are Woodbridge, Maple and Kleinburg, each with its own character. Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, around Highway 7 and Jane Street, is the city's new downtown, with the Line 1 subway terminal.
Vaughan landmarks include Canada's Wonderland and Vaughan Mills, and the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital opened in 2021.

Half of it. Thornhill west of Yonge Street is in the City of Vaughan; east of Yonge is in the City of Markham.
Do Vaughan buyers pay Toronto land transfer tax?

Does the subway reach Vaughan?
Yes. Line 1 runs to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre at Highway 7 and Jane Street. Thornhill itself is served by Viva and YRT buses to the subway.
